Today's color combination is quite, obviously, turquoise and hues of yellow. I had a discussion with a friend years ago, about using colors as verbs in our writing. Aside from "feeling blue" as a form of sadness, I couldn't really justify using color as a verb, or even a noun.
Then, he wrote a lovely prose that ended with something along the lines of, "he reached out to the sky, and he could feel blue." It made perfect sense and changed my mind about the use of color as more than just imagery, but as a way we wrap ourselves up in something greater then needing to name or objectify it outright.

My husband once pointed out to me, that when ever we go shopping, I always pick up something that perfectly coordinates with my current outfit. If I am wearing my muted orange sweater, everything will be orange or caramels. If I am wearing a pale pink blouse, then all I pick up will be pinks.
I found that interesting how I was magnetized to the same color I had been attracted to in the mornings. How, I can look perfectly fine in one thing, but change it because the color isn't suiting me that day and makes me feel "too bright" "too down"...

It is amazing to realize how deeply influencing color can be. If you could feel a color today, what would it be?

Beautiful items and post! I think I am feeling blue today. Although your yellow certainly brightened my morning a bit! :)
I am always a pink kinda girl! I asked a friend of she remembered the pink top I had worn a few days before and she said 'I've never seen you in anything but pink!' LOL!
A perfectly ripe tomato tastes exactly what red should taste like.
What about feeling green when you're sick? Or envious? Or seeing red when you're mad?
That said, I feel lavendar today. Don't know why, but it kinda fits.
I love your blog! Thank you for stopping by mine and for your sweet comment!! xOxO deb
I just realized you revamped your blog! Looks great! Don't ask me why it took me this long to realize it...I guess babies steal your brain power. I also need to wear certain colours on certain days and feel no need to wear them on other days.
Yeah, colors do accentuate how we feel! There's a whole science on that! I think I am feeling a bit of Yellow mixed with some gray today... Shiny with some un-explained gloom...
Usually, I'd say my color is either aqua or yellow! Especially in combo...so cheery. Today, my color is avocado green because I'm sick!!!
Dont you LOVE those tinkerbell shoes? I have NO idea where on earth I would ever wear them, but they're fun to look at just the same!
I'm definitely a mustard yellow today! Warm, cheeky and cheerful! And in need of those gorgeous shoes!
I think it's true that colour does influence you - when I wear black I feel somber and serious. When I wear yellows or reds I feel like I could get away with anything! x
i woulds love to study how color affects people... cause it really does make such a difference. today i think i would be navy. i have no idea why, though...
Yellow! Yellow is bright and sunny and today has been a good day
