Facinator Fascination

As promised, here are my new hair accessories that I brought to my craft fair this past weekend! Some are on hair barrettes, while others are on headbands. I'm sad because I forgot to take photos of a few of my favorites... but I should have them posted in my shop in the next week. A tutorial on making one of these flower barrettes from a store bought silk bloom is coming up too!

Give the Gift of Life

A beautiful and intelligent young woman, Urangoo, found out very recently she has Acute Leukemia. She is a recent college graduate and immigrated to America for education 8 years ago from Mongolia. Unfortunatly, like many Americans, she has no health insurance and without a bone marrow transplant in the next few weeks, she is likely to die within a few months. The hospital has donated her first chemo treatment and is trying to outreach to foreign hospitals who may be able to help her case, but there have been no takers yet. You can read the complete article here in the Utah Daily Herald Newspaper along with the donation link in her blog.

She has raised $10,000, but her treatment is between $100,000 to $350,000 so they have a very long ways to go. But small amounts add up quickly, especially in the blogging world!

My father had Leukemia, and died when I was 23. So, this is just heartbreaking to me.

Ethereal Whimsy

I am supposed to be revealing my new hair piece collection today, but I had to charge my camera battery instead. So, I bring you a few pieces I love for the moment. The styling, and photography, all have a whimsical yet beautiful, dreamy and ethereal touch. {all of my favorite synonyms}

Jewelry Gift Certificte Giveaway!!!!

Well, the {outdoor} craft fair is over, thank the skies! I made enough to cover the booth fee, so I could have just stood on a street corner for 8 hours handing out free jewelry, sweating my brains out and getting a sunburn, then crashing at the end of the day... BUT it was a success because I met a lot of really neat Etsy fans, a really cute couple took my photo and biz card for a credit to be in the Keller Citizen newspaper about the fair, and I made a ton of new, AMAZING new hair fascinators and jewelry that will be in the shop this week!! Oh, the reveal is going to be tomorrow, so stay tuned...

In the meantime, I am hosting a GIVEAWAY for a $25 gift certificate at Simple Blue Print. Joanna is the author of the blog and she is such a sweet, down to earth person, who loves typography, fashion, paper and everything else that I love. Go visit her blog and, enter the giveaway there (not here :)

Love. Paper. Moon.

Oh handmade vintage weddings, how I love you. Especially the ones in autumn.
Seriously, if I could be a glamour bride for Halloween, every single year, I would.

So, I bring you Ebony and Andrew's 1920's art deco wedding as seen on Vintage Glam. Ebony also has an Etsy shop of similar  handmade art deco inspired goodies, Madame Chapman (at bottom of post). Wedding photography by Marzena Wasilewska

Ebony hand painted her teacups as wedding favors for her guests, Andrew hung the garland frames, and Ebony hand embroidered and arranged her art deco cascading bouquet. I truly adore their paper moon they made for their photography prop. Also, the beautiful bride's flawless finger waves and bridal wear is amazing in itself. Truly a stunning, yet simple wedding. I am now considering making a paper moon for the boys room...hmmm. What wedding type elements can be incorporated into your life today?
