Inspired Interiors: Bean Bag Chairs

Well, it's been a crazy ride, but we finally made our cross-country move! The nice thing about our new home, is the large finished basement where we can allow the kids to have free reign. Design possibilities allow us to have a more colorful and comfortable atmosphere there. Which is why I was really excited to come across these really neat bean bag chairs from BeanBagBoss.com. Gone are the old vinyl, soccer ball looking ones from my youth... these are more cozy, stylish, come in an array of colors, patterns, even faux leather and lame. They can also be molded into chairs. I absolutely love the look of the above playroom. Those are definitely within my color palate of turquoise, sage, black and white, kid friendly but with a perfect sense of style for the discerning adult. These would make excellent gifts for the holidays as well, and free shipping for all of my Canadian readers! Be sure to check out their facebook page, for some really neat style ideas.

Lovin' this lavender little girls room! It doesn't take much space or energy to create a cozy reading corner. More adorable pics of this shabby chic room here on Baby Eagle T.
My two little guys would love to dive in like this!
I love this perfect little reading and activity nook for the kid's basement. An IKEA bookcase, tables and chairs, toy storage and cozy seating in bright colors are a welcome room for any kid.  via
Ever the sucker for orange, this room morphs from little boy to growing kid quite well.  via

I have to say though, I *really* love Bean Bag Boss' metallic chairs. My Elisabeth's room has pops of gold, and I feel that golds and silvers add a touch of class to most any rooms.Would even be pretty in a modern master bedroom.

So, are you digging the new style of bean bag chairs? What's your color preference? These are cozier than the poufs craze of previous years!

*sponsored, paid for post. thank you Bean Bag Boss!

Inspired Room: Lovely DIY Golden Heart Walls for a Little Girl's Room

We are on the hunt for a new rental, so I know I will be getting the decorating itch soon! Since Elisabeth will finally have her own room, I am thinking of something temporary to add lots of girly glam. Then, I saw what Holly of In the Fun Lane did to her little girl, Wren's room, and I so love it! The metallic touches will go great with the ones I have in Elisabeth's fabric garland I made.

Using these gold heart wall decals from Danielle and Paul at Urban Walls, she mapped out pretty little touches to the room for a lovely, mini-makeover. I am excited to see what else they have, perhaps something like this airplane for the boys room?

Inspired Interiors: Design Love Fest

I discovered the most amazingly beautiful blog the other day, Design Love Fest. Bri's home, photography and outfits are adorable. Take her home for instance. Everything I am craving at the moment, style, creativity, color, neutrals, natural light is present. There is an energy that is both relaxing, yet energizing. Eclectic, mid century modern, mint, aqua, pink and white, golden, metallic accents, black and white geometric patterns, poufs and funky chairs... Shall I go on?

Inspired Interiors: Albertina's "Fearless" Living Room

LALALALA-Love Albertina's home as featured on Little Green Notebook!! The colors, the elegance! Visit the link for source info.

One thing I am lacking is framed family photos. I saw this photo above and have been collecting metallic frames to create a similar vignette. So, I suppose I need a sofa table too! I want to be able to pick up a frame, trace the smile and hug it when I feel so moved. For me, I'm trying to distance myself from so much art, and get back to the basics of family photos.

I would love to paint a lovely portrait of my children.

Inspired Interiors: Justina's Jungalow

Probably one of my most favorite areas ever from Etsy's Get the Look interview. I have some natural toned wood that I keep thinking I need to paint, but I can appreciate it's natural state in that is DOES look good with mismatched pieces in a setting. So, I love figuring out that I am only semi-delusional in this regard.

Really though, the colors, patterns, ethnic prints. Adore it all. But the key is, mismatch doesn't work if it's only one or two pieces. Than it just looks like you can't match. No, you have to throw it to the wind. Keeping other elements natural and airy with a similar color scheme helps.  Also, I love the layering of rugs.

Check out the homeowner's Justina’s blog for even more incredible decorating ideas and to take the full Jungalow tour.

Inspired Interiors: Classic Living TV Room

I got lucky when I came across bryn alexandra's post. She showcases a home she was working on that is very similar in concept to what I am trying to achieve. A tv room, with separate nooks and seating areas, storage solutions, gray couches and a huge square ottoman (ours if a coffee table about the same size), that has a classic, modern feel with some pizazz. The flooring is also very similar to ours.

Plus, I want to hang my curtains higher to give this room height, since the room is long and narrow with low ceilings. But then the crtains would be too short. I was toying with the idea of sewing a black edge on the bottom, and her design realizes that look for me in a setting that is similar to mine.

I love the use of blues, blacks and grays with neutral whites. Even though this post is a few years old, it is still a classic styling that gives me some great ideas. She has has some good ideas on getting started along with some 'progress' photos of this room to see how it came together.

Inspired Rooms: Bachelor Pad Nursery

I simply, madly adore this nursery, aka "Ike's Bachelor Pad" from Design Crisis. I would love to do something like this for my boys room. The drummer art, the stuffed giraffe, the hot air balloon chandelier and Persian rug are what floors me. Okay, so to be honest, so does the rocking chair and the gorgeous gray walls, ( Pratt and Lambert’s Wolf)... I basically love everything. Be sure to visit the link for more pics, details and supply info!
